Supreme Court extends Aadhaar Linking Deadline of March 31 Indefinitely

The Supreme Court extends Aadhaar linking deadline of March 31 indefinitely to link Aadhaar with various Government Services, Bank Accounts, PAN and mobile connections. This extension is till the Supreme Court delivers a verdict. This definitely gives you a relief from the bombardment of the messages from service providers.

However, this extension will not apply to few government services and benefits. Such as Pensions, Scholarships, Subsidised Foodgrains, Subsidised Cooking gas and flagship job guarantee plan for rural India.Aadhaar Linking Deadline

Supreme Court extends Aadhaar Linking Deadline of March 31 Indefinitely:

A five-judge panel head by Chief Justice Dipak Misra is presently hearing petitioners who are questioning the validity & legitimacy of Aadhaar Number. Also, subsequent rules making the number compulsory for such services. The panel will respond on petitioners presenting their cases. You may expect a final judgment by the end of this month.

The panel says its very unpleasant, that banks, financial institutions and mobile companies proceeding to force individuals to link their Aadhaar number for uninterrupted services. Also, the uncertainty is causing havoc. Since SC extends the Aadhaar linking due date; therefore, the messages from the service providers should stop. And, if they don’t; then the panel will take action against those service providers.

Attorney General KK Venugopal had said the Center was not unwilling to extend the due date. However, he also thinks that there is no quick necessity for an extension. Therefore, he wants the panel to look into the matter and see how the case advances.
