How to Check your PAN Card Status – Whether it is Active or Deactive?
Yes, that’s true, your PAN can be deactivated & then re-activated as well. And, this only an Assessing Officer can do with the help of a Software. Before, the last date for linking your Aadhaar with your PAN passes away, check whether your PAN is still active. And, the last date for linking of Aadhaar Number with your PAN is August 31, 2018.

Follow the steps to Check your PAN Card Status – Whether it is Active or Deactive?
- Visit the official e-filing portal. And, click on “Know Your PAN | TAN | AO”
- On next window, you will have to fill in certain information:
- Once you submit the above screen, it will ask you to enter an OTP which has been sent to your given mobile number. Mobile number need not to be the registered one.
- On validating the OTP sent to your given mobile number, you will see the next window, where you will get to know whether you PAN is active or deactive.
How to link Aadhaar & PAN?
Once you check your PAN Card status and find it still active, go ahead and link it with your Aadhaar, before the last date for the same expires. The simplest way to do it is through SMS.
Simply send an SMS to 567678 containing
UIDPAN<Space><12 Digit Aadhaar Number><Space><10 Digit PAN>
You can also visit official e-filing portal to link the Aadhaar & PAN.
